Reviews - What people have to say about us

General reviews

"FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine has used David Vose's consulting services repeatedly over the last several years for providing risk assessment and modeling courses to our scientists, antimicrobial resistance risk assessments, presenting the data and models to the animal pharmaceutical industry and the public, serving as an expert witness in a court case and reviewing other expert witness testimony, and helping the Center develop a scientifically defensible approach to regulating antimicrobials used in food animals considering resistance concerns. Perhaps most valuable to FDA was David's contribution as leading a team of lawyers and scientists in support of the Center's efforts to remove approval for an antimicrobial used in food animals. David's unique value in the very broad field of biostatistics and risk assessment is his ability to explain highly technical concepts so that nonscientists can not only understand the issues but engage in interpretative discussions. FDA honored David with the Commissioner's Special Citation award, the highest award given to persons outside the FDA."

"I have to tell you I have not seen this level of deep analysis from a third party so far. Congratulations!"

"Vose worked with our group to create a statistical model which optimizes customer parts fill versus financial inventory goals at John Deere Construction and Forestry dealerships. We were able to use the output of the model to design an inventory stocking system which improves the customer experience at our dealerships. Additionally, the model was designed in a way to accommodate future "what if" scenarios as the business environment changes. "

"Introduction to Quantitative Risk Analysis is not just a class, it is an experience. There is a great depth and breadth of knowledge that The instructor brings to the table, not just in risk analysis, but in business and industry as a whole. The class brought to light and explained fully issues with risk analysis that I previously only suspected or wondered about. I would not hesitate to recommend the class to anybody with a true interest in risk analysis."

Participant Intro to Quantitative Risk Analysis course, 2006

"I enjoyed the courses very much. They were especially helpful to me because I do not have a strong mathematical background. I would recommend the courses to anyone that intends to do risk analysis, especially beginners. In addition, the social events and activities at the courses at Oxford and St. Emilion were great fun! Perhaps most important has been The instructor's willingness to provide help and guidance after the courses."

"Vose provides seminars and workshops on risk assessment, commencing with basic principles, and extending into more complex risk assessment methods. At each training session, the instructor communicated clearly and concisely, providing excellent notes and worksheets. The focus of our interest in risk assessment has been primarily in the field of animal health, and later plant health. The instructor was able to demonstrate the immediate applicability of an impressive range of techniques in both of these areas. It is a credit to the instructor that he was able to work with people from very different mathematical backgrounds, and his patience with beginners was commendable."

"I believe that Vose's courses are immensely useful useful for people with little or perhaps informal training in quantitative methodologies. The courses are careful structured and interactive, and provide participants with many worked example to use as templates for further studies. David is an enthusiastic lecturer who manages to bring to life a discipline which is both technically difficult and intuitively daunting."

"Your course was certainly one of the best courses I ever received. I learned a lot and never got bored."

"The 2 week course on risk modelling for animal health and food safety that I took in France from Vose was very informative. Not only did I learn the basics of risk assessment, but also how to put such models in perspective of the total risk analysis process. I also enjoyed spending 2 weeks with other professionals who are working on similar projects and have similar needs and problems to solve. The new network created will prove useful in my professional career."

"David is an excellent teacher, who understands the virtue of keeping things as simple as possible. On the other hand, he never hesitates to try out some new and almost always improved solution to a problem during class. This combination is very beneficial. Having attended four of his courses, I can say that I have returned from everyone of them having understood nearly all of what has been taught, and still feeling that I have been updated on the very latest techniques."

"Vose consultants are outstanding professionals in the field of quantitative risk assessment. They provided training that our staff will find valuable as we develop quantitative risk assessment to guide food safety decisions in the U.S."

"It was a pleasure to work with the Vose team to build a revenue model for our pharmaceutical product candidates. They listened, hit our deadlines and produced a high-quality model on budget. Highly recommended!"
